May Update

Our weather is warming up and we are loving it!  Sorry to all the Iowa people who had to deal with snow the past weekend!  I got sunburn from just a few hours outside Saturday and Sunday.

On Saturday we went to Saratoga Springs to walk around.  It's a cute town just north of us that reminded us of a cute Chicago-like neighborhood.  It was busy because of the Kentucky Derby.  There's a race track in Saratoga that's pretty busy during the summer so they were playing the Derby at different places and lots of people were out walking around and enjoying the open air restaurants.  We had lunch before we left but we did enjoy some ice cream and a cupcake.

Graham got to ride around on the carousal too.  It just opened this past weekend.  He wasn't so sure of it at first.  He rode one in Oklahoma, but he just sat on the bench on not on one of the animals so he wasn't so sure about going up and down.  But by the end he was enjoying himself.  The carousal was built in 1910 and has been moved and restored various times over the years.  It's now kept in an enclosed area in a park near downtown Saratoga.

The park area also had some ponds with geese and ducks swimming and walking around that Graham just had to chase.  He kept yelling "ducks! hey ducks!! ahhhhhh!!!"  I don't think they wanted to play with him very much.  But he was pretty persistent.

Luther enjoyed being out and spent most of his time in the stroller riding along.  He spent a little time being held too of course.  He LOVES being out and about.  Graham is happy to stay home and leaving the house once a day is plenty for him.  Luther needs out at least 2 times a day.  He does okay if he has to stay home, but is much happier if we are busy.  We finally got some chairs for our little deck off the back of our apartment and since we have shade all afternoon we can go out there to get some fresh air and Luther just plays in his exersaucer and watches cars go by.  We live near the maintenance building so we see a lot of workers going in and out along with dump trucks and a backhoe and lots of other exciting stuff (if you're 3).

Sunday we went to a birthday party for one of Graham's friends.  4 little boys from his class were there so they had fun running around and playing.  It was a great day to be outside!
